Sadeera Samarawickrama helps Sri Lanka to beat Bangladesh by 21 runs
Colombo's pitch was bit challenging for both the sides, it was a test for both the bowlers and the batsmen. Sri Lanka started off in the first innings and was facing some trouble to make a defending total but somehow made a total of 257 with the help of Sadeera Sam.'s 93 and Kusal Mendis's beautiful half century.
Now it was on Bangladesh's batsmen to prove themselves on the tough pitch. But the things didn't work as they planned, Sri Lanka grabbed some early wickets which made it tougher for BAN to chase the target. At the end Sri Lanka cleaned bowled Bangladesh for 236 and won the match.
"Tawhid Hridoy scored 82 of 97 balls for his team but didn't got support from his teammates. Even for Sri Lanka it was not smooth win as the experts say. But a well start in the tournament is always something you are looking for."
